The midfielder, however, was in top form in a 1-0 loss to Solar SC ECNL G11 in the group phase, delivering intensity and quality in the center of the field. Ladd was very active and efficient offensively, helping set up attacking plays with smart, first-time passes and doing a good job of driving the ball forward through the center of the field. She was also very determined defensively, working hard to shield the team’s backline and dropping deep to make defensive plays inside her own penalty box on some occasions.

She covered a lot of ground defensively and helped the team make stops and regain possession with strong tackles and smart positioning. Ladd also did a good job of taking the ball into the final third with strong runs through the middle and intelligent passing. She kept her intensity level high during the entire time she was on the field and was always very clean on the ball.

Ladd’s never-ending energy helped FC Dallas dominate SLSG Green and produce a strong victory. She played a few different roles for the team, but made the biggest impact when used as a box-to-box midfielder. Ladd was relentless defensively, playing with great determination and winning the ball on numerous occasions. Her movement off the ball was also remarkable as she often appeared around the center backs or outside the backs to give them a passing option when opponents tried to press higher. Ladd also had a strong and frequent presence on the final third, making good runs on and off the ball and appearing in great spots to make crosses and finish chances.
