Originally a forward, Kotun has been playing as a right wingback for GFI Academy more recently. A player with impressive pace and excellent dribbling, he adjusted well to his new position and immediately became one of their main chance creators. Kotun is very dangerous when he faces opponents 1v1 out wide and keeps opposing backlines under constant pressure with his ability to make runs behind. He’s also a very good finisher who likes to get into the box to get on the end of plays and fire shots on goal.

Kotun will lead the line for the GFI team that will play against Players Development Academy, FC Golden State and Albion SC Los Angeles in the U15 division in Arizona. A forward with interesting physical tools and a very intense game up top, he’s the focal point of their offense, getting service in a variety of ways. Kotun’s pace is one of his main strengths, and he uses it to attack the space behind the backline with strong and well-timed runs off the ball. The forward has solid ball control and is a very capable dribbler, at times getting to carry the ball for long distances on the field. He also gets into good spots in the box and is a capable finisher, converting chances at a solid rate.

Kotun is a winger/forward on the Global Football Innovation Academy 2011 MLS Next team. He plays up an age group at the club as well. He can play on the wing, center forward, or even outside back. He has the pace to shine on the wing. He is a talented dribbler and uses his fluid stride and quick footwork to get around defenders. He has been an efficient finisher at the club level. He’s first to react to chances and scores quite a few goals with his smart positioning. Kotun has shown all the characteristics of an elite prospect on the wing and emerged as a top talent to know from this class.
