Schnitzmeier is another defender from the SLSG Green 2010/2011 ECNL team. She was the center back partner for Hardt for a game over the weekend. She caught my eye on a number of occasions and looks to be one to watch this season.
She’s got the physical profile and athleticism to suggest she can compete with the top attacking talent in this class at a national level. She’s a player with a competitive edge too. She had a couple of plays against Nationals that showed she won’t back down from any challenge.
She needs to improve a bit on her tactical approach. She can get drawn out of position tracking runs or lets forwards get in behind her. There is every reason to believe that will improve during this season. She was an ECNL All-Regional League selection during the last club season. As she adjusts to the ECNL play, she will quickly emerge as a top defender in this group.
