She has been a strong contributor to the team since her freshman season, doing solid work on the right side of their backline. Goodwin, who can also play as a right-sided center back, is more of a defensive-minded outside back, making of her defensive duties her main priority on the field. She’s big, physical and is very quick to throw her body in the way of opposing attackers to control the space. Although she doesn’t push forward very often, Goodwin contributes to Stratford’s offense with her intelligent and efficient passing.

A class of 2027 prospect playing up with Albion Hurricanes FC 08, Goodwin helped the team secure an eighth-place finish in the Texas Conference with six wins, four losses and three ties, which sent them to the North American Cup. She has a good combination of physical and technical tools and knows how to play the right back position in different ways. I’ve watched her play in a back four and she was very solid defensively, using her frame, positioning and reading of the game to make stops. When used as a right wingback playing in front of a back three, Goodwin takes advantage of the freedom allowed by the system to push forward and on times she’ll appear inside the penalty box to finish chances.

Used as a right wingback, Goodwin was very active on both sides of the ball for Albion. She made great use of the freedom the team’s playing system allowed her to consistently push forward and help create chances. Goodwin had an excellent individual play down the right in the final minutes in which she forced Sting’s goalkeeper

Goodwin is part of one of the strongest teams in the region in Stratford and has already earned a spot in their starting lineup. Her versatility certainly helped as she’s capable of playing anywhere across the backline. Goodwin is tall and physical, but also reads the game well and is always in the perfect spot to make plays on the defensive side of the game. She’s also very capable when pushing forward from the outside back position, being able to dribble the ball forward and to connect good passes in the final third.

Goodwin offered a strong presence on the right side of Albion’s backline. Her steady presence there limited most of Sting’s production from that side and forced the opponents to attack more through the middle or the left. The fullback used her physical tools to occupy the space really well and also won most of the duels she was involved with. Goodwin was somewhat conservative in possession, preferring shorter, safer passes over riskier ones and had more of an offensive approach when her team was trailing.
