After somewhat of a quiet performance against Seven Lakes in the semifinals, Hess stepped up in the Championship game against Westlake. Besides being very active offensively, firing a team-high three shots and distributing the ball in the attacking half, the left-footed midfielder scored the game-winning goal by sending a rocket into the back of the net from a free kick from outside the penalty box.
