Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Aras is a key player in both her high school team Clements and her club team Albion Hurricanes FC 08, which competes in the ECNL league. Also capable of playing as a center back, she has established herself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Houston area for her quality on both sides of the ball. Aras is very active defensively, protecting the backline efficiently and using her ability to read the game to anticipate plays and win possession. She’s probably even more valuable when in possession because of her passing and her ability to control the flow of the game – she’s particularly good at connecting long passes. Aras hits the ball with power and precision and is also a threat in set pieces, either making crosses or taking them straight to the goal.

In a certain way, it’s fair to say that Clements played in Aras’ rhythm as the center midfielder had an inconsistent first half, but stepped up her game in a huge way in the last 40 minutes. The sophomore was extremely active in the midfield and helped her team dominate the center of the field with great energy to win the ball back and tremendous quality when in possession. Aras’ set pieces were a huge factor in the game as, despite tying the match with an incredible Olimpico, she also created some other opportunities in dead-ball situations, propelling the Lady Rangers to a strong start in the second half.

One of the most technical defenders in the region, Aras plays at the heart of Clements’ backline. Because she reads the game so well, she covers a lot of ground around the penalty box, stepping up to stop plays and moving to wider positions to cover the fullbacks. Aras is also strong in the air and helps her team clear crosses and long passes. A very technical player, she has a great deal of quality and power in her right leg, standing out offensively with her passing and her ability to take corner kicks and free kicks and racking up dozens of assists.

Aras will be with Albion Hurricanes FC G08 when they play Concorde Fire Premier, Ohio Elite Soccer Academy and Tennessee Soccer Club. She’s a big part of the team’s game, heavily impacting the game from her defensive midfielder position. Aras is very active on the defensive side of the ball, using her mobility to cover the outside backs when they push forward and her physicality to shut down the central area of the field. She’s also a solid passer, who helps distribute the ball around, is excellent at creating space with quick moves and has a potent right leg, often creating chances with long-distance free kick attemps.

A versatile player, Aras does very well when playing on defense, where she typically lines up for her high school team Clements, or midfield, where she’s mostly used for Albion Hurricanes ECNL G08. She’s very strong in 1-v-1 duels and also wins most of the aerial battles she’s involved with despite not being extremely tall. Aras reads the game very well and that shows when she plays in midfield, where she gets more active. When playing in the middle, she can also display her great quality on the ball, which includes impressive precision with her passing and the ability to finish from distance with power and accuracy.
