As part of the scouting process for the 2027 class, we come across players who are playing up an age group or later birth dates who are playing with players a class above them. Below is the scouting report on the players who would’ve been highly ranked in the 2027 class, but they are part of the 2028 or 2029 class, which will be released next year.
Gilkey is a terrific outside back. She is physically imposing at the point of contact. She is quick to pounce on a bad touch. She reads the game well. She has been absolutely dominant at right back at the start of the season.
Davis is the left center back for the Solar SC 09 ECNL team. She is a dominant player on the field. She is a physical defender. Her center back partner Brooklynn Sosa Brooklynn Sosa D TX is also a top player from the 2028 group. Davis has locked down the role on the left side thanks to her organization and smarts. She is always in the right spots and does exceptionally well in helping her teammates. Davis has big time potential.
Pacheco is one of those midfield/forward types, which means outside midfielder in real terms or a wingback in the right playing style. She’s a willing runner with a long stride. She eats up ground in a hurry and is nonstop with her effort. Pacheco hits a good cross and has a strong foot for shooting. She is an impactful player at the 09 level. This kid can play.
Highlights
Reyna needs no introduction. She’s part of the U.S. U14 Girls National Team and plays her club soccer with Lonestar SC. She’s from the famous soccer family. The young one is a talented attacker. She’s got active feet and an unrelenting drive. She’s skillful and loves to take defenders on on the dribble. She’s right footed but good with either foot from the run of player. She has an incredibly high ceiling.
Sosa is another defender from the Solar group. She plays as the right center back for Solar 09 ECNL. She is excellent on the ball. One of the top players in this position in passing and reading the game. I didn’t notice her playing in the recent ECNL games, but during the preseason tournaments for Solar she was one of the best players on the field.
Best from Class of 2029
Bledsoe is listed as a forward on her player profile, but I believe I only saw her play as an attacking midfielder from ECNL game film. She is the most obvious talent in the Texas Conference in her age group. A brilliant player who can decide a game at any moment, Bledsoe is playing two age groups up and still shines bright. It’s going to be a long time before she’s really in the spotlight for scouts, but she will be on the Youth National Team in the near future. Clean on the ball, quick with her decisions, and skillful and creative, Bledsoe has all the characteristics to be a top attacking talent in her birth year.
Highlights
Apodaca is quite the player. It takes a lot to get opportunities with older age groups at Solar. She is a 2029 playing with 2027s. She previously played for the DKSC 09 ECNL team. She’s also part of the 2010 ODP team. Apodaca is an excellent passer for the position. Calm on the ball and always scanning, she orchestrates the offense when she is on the field for her club team. She has a sweet right foot and can score from well outside of the box. The young standout is also a great two-way player. She puts in the work on defense and facilitates the high-press style as no one can pass through the center when Apodaca is on the field. Apodaca is one to watch.
