Rankings Preview: Top Five players from Texas 2028 Rankings

Prior to the unveiling of the rankings, Prep Soccer does a look at the top players from the class. The Sting Austin standout was recently awarded the Golden Boot at the 2024 Concacaf U15 Championships as the leading scorer at the event. Reyna's dynamic play at the club level has been obvious for some time. She is showing that she can take on the best at an international level as well. Part of the US U14 Girls National Team. Big time prospect. Excellent hands. Good shot-stopper. Good footwork, distribution is excellent. Hits a drop kick that sails over the midfield. The decision-making with distribution could improve. She rushed some things during the ECNL playoffs and didn't always get the ball to her team - both from her hands and feet. I believe the potential is there for a top level goalkeeper. She's obsessed with the process of improving and she's shown continuous growth and development in her role. Barrett is going to be a top player on the national level thanks to impact she has on one of the best teams in the country. Center. Striker. Barrow is the captain of the AHFC 2010 ECNL team. She is right footed. She takes some corner kicks for her team. She's a high activity player. AHFC played her in a central role during the playoffs, but it looks like US Soccer used her on the wing during Talent ID events last fall. Her ability to track back and win the ball is a real asset. She's a focal point for her team as the play runs through her in the attack, but she works hard to get those touches too. Barrow has tremendous upside. She is very good at throwing her body in front of defenders on crosses and playing with her back to the goal. The Solar SC 09 ECNL center back was named to the Prep Soccer Best XI for the playoffs. She has been part of the US Soccer Youth National Team program in the past. Davis is the player who has incredibly high upside and is impacting the game at the top level currently too. She is a key part of the Solar SC 09. Her team trusts her as the last line of defense and she rarely makes a mistake. Davis' upside is obvious. Left center back. Guerrero is a member of the US U14 Girls National Team. She has been identified as a top player in her region by US Soccer scouts. There are a number of reasons why. The biggest takeaway from her game that I saw on game film was her mobility. She moves her feet side to side really well. She tracks speedy forwards and stays in front of them. She's an excellent individual defender as a center back, which could suggest a future at outside back as well. The quality on the ball is there as well.
