After giving love to rankings risers last week, which included [player_tooltip player_id='82736' first='Sophia' last='Canepa'] of De Anza Force, it was time to take a closer look at this elite club in San Jose. Including Canepa, who was featured last week, there are eight players inside the top 100. Here is a closer look at the other seven.

[player_tooltip player_id='82757' first='Kylie' last='Farmer'], Central Midfielder

Farmer is a very good-sized No. 8 with excellent technical ability and a smooth style of play. She gets up and down the pitch with ease and does so with an incredible work rate as she is a midfielder who works hard on both ends. She likes to push forward when the team has its ears pinned back as she is a threat in the box on headers, so she will continue on after she's played a ball. She's a dangerous finisher from distance, too. She takes pride in being the first line of defense in the midfield as she does not simply pass that responsibility on as she tries to win the ball and regularly turns the ball over by reading the game and stepping into passing lanes.

[player_tooltip player_id='82656' first='Lauryn' last='Elizabeth Fleshman'], Defender

A versatile defender who can play centrally or out wide, Fleshman is quick and athletic and possesses excellent technical skills. Her ability to play one-touch footy out of the back is very impressive as she can ping the ball quickly. She can win headers and do so with accuracy, winning those aerial duels while helping transition quickly at the same time. She is so calm on the ball, and so good on the ball, she can break lines after she gets attackers and midfielders to move one direction or try to press. She is a very good 1v1 defender because she is quick but she is also tough and excellent with her feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='82617' first='Fiona' last='McCormick'], Attacking Midfielder

McCormikc is a very good-sized No. 10, with very long levers which leads to long strides. She is a lot faster then she looks because it looks like she is moving with such ease. Her size also allows her to be very physical, and she loves to press high and turn players over in the final third and get back on the attack. An incredibly smooth and technical player, McCormick possesses the ball neatly and moves in traffic with ease. She knows when to play a ball and knows when to drive down hill. She can go for goal and score in a variety of ways and adds a different element as a No. 10 because she is so good at scoring with her head.

[player_tooltip player_id='111246' first='Niamh' last='McVey'], Forward

The player affectionately known as "Nugget" is a thorn in the side for defenders. McVey is a forward who applies constant pressure and goes all out, meaning a defender not only has to be fully switched on, but needs to be ready to sprint. Incredibly skilled with the ball at her feet, she is impossible to get a hold of in open space, but also hard to handle in tight spaces. She controls the ball so well and is so fast that when she has space, a defender can only hope to keep up with her. She shows great body control and great foot skills when operating in space and it is hard to dispossess her. She finishes well, doing so cooly when in on goal and she has a very accurate shot from distance as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='111248' first='Tatiana' last='Musgrove'], Keeper

Musgrove is everywhere. How a keeper can cover so much of the technical area is incredible, but she is incredibly quick, very active and shows as much athleticism as just about any keeper in the 2026 class. However, she is not simply a wild card that comes out for everything and tries to play hero ball. She is smart as well, showing that she knows when to come, when to sweep the ball, or when to sit back and react. She has great reaction times to shots on goal, she covers a lot of space between posts because of her athleticism and then she likes to get the ball out quickly.

[player_tooltip player_id='19779' first='Leila' last='Nashiro'], Defensive Midfielder

Nashiro is a dynamic No. 6 as she does not just sit back and ping the ball wide or sit down and defend. She likes to be all over the pitch and express herself, and she does that best when she's a part of the action. She has creative abilities as she can take defenders off the dribble, operate in space and get a shot off and she also shows the ability to play a nice ball to an attacking player in the final third and set them up for a chance. She likes to work combinations, to hit the ball one-time and loosen up the defense. She puts the work in on both sides as well, showing the ability to cut off passing lanes and step to the ball defensively, which helps the team transition quickly.

[player_tooltip player_id='20128' first='Sahaana' last='Potti'], Forward

Potti is excellent about keeping defenders on their toes. She plays mostly as a No. 7 and gives outside defenders a very hard time because she is unpredictable. She has the ability to use her right and left foot so she does not stick to the same patterns because she is comfortable trying to win on the outside or cutting in on her left foot. She also does really well at receiving the ball with a defender on her back, and then turning, and she can turn either way. She's agile with good quickness and she shows that when she's on the move with the ball. She plays a nice angled ball into the box, and when it comes to finishing she's great at finding a spot and driving the ball home.
