The top 10 talent in this class is a special group. From a Gatorade Player of the Year to an international soccer stars from multiple countries, the elite talent in this group could rival any group in the past decade. Read a brief scouting report on the top talent below including a player comparison for each of the talents.
The reigning Gatorade National Player of the Year continues to lift her game to new heights. From a soccer family, DiMaria is enjoying her sophomore season with even more success than her debut campaign.
The superlatives and accolades go on forever with the SLSG star, but there is plenty of reason to believe this is just her scratching the surface of her potential.
Player comparison - Sam Kerr. It's not exactly a like-for-like considering they are slightly different in positions, but DiMaria's ruthless finishing and shooting technique is reminiscent of the global star.
Highlights
Mia Corona has been a standout in the Southern California scene for quite some time. Her rapid rise on the national spotlight is no surprise. She is skillful, clever, and determined. She is a mesmerizing dribbler who can slice the defense apart with her skill and a exquisite passer who can see a pass no one else can spot.
Corona has all the talent to make the leap to the professional level in the future and is on the radar for many clubs. She is a Nike athlete and represented by the Wasserman group.
Player comparison - Rose Lavalle. There are a few players who can draw the comparison to Lavalle, but Corona has the elite traits that could make her just as good in the future as a midfielder.
Highlights
Citlali Reyes, the star of the Mexico Women's Youth National Team, was the Golden Boot winner from the Concacaf U17 Qualifiers. She's earned a plethora of accolades playing for San Diego Surf in the ECNL as well.
Reyes is originally from Las Vegas and previously played for Las Vegas Diversity FC. Her play has reached new heights after performances with the Mexico Youth teams at the U15 and U17 level. She is also represented by the Wasserman group. She is an adidas athlete.
Player comparison - Melanie Barcenas. Perhaps not a fair comparison considering how young Barcenas is and early on in her career, but they have similar approaches to the game and both have thrived under the coaching at San Diego Surf.
Highlights
Beary is the top ranked goalkeeper in this class. A rare combination of size and athleticism, Beary has the profile to be a No. 1 goalkeeper at the full international level in the future.
She has been one of the key performers for So Cal Blues for a long time and helped that team to postseason success with her jaw-dropping saves and gritty determination.
Player comparison - Katie Lund. Beary has a similar physical make-up to the Racing Louisville goalkeeper.
Highlights
Brewer could be the player that every scout asks about the most. The most physically gifted field player in this class. Brewer is a position-fluid player who could fit any role. She's been dominant at center back at the club and youth national team level but the path isn't closed off for her being a top level contributor at the professional level in a different role.
She is represented by the Wasserman Group. She currently players for KC Athletics. She spent some time playing for IMG Academy in the past after getting recruited to play there. She recently was invited to train with the US U20 Women's National Team. She is a regular with the youth national team in her age group.
Brewer brings the same blend of size, composure, and multi-positional ability that makes Alana Cook a mainstay for the U.S. back line.
Highlights
A new name to the Prep Soccer rankings, but hardly a new name to scouts. Waksman scored 87 goals for her high school last season. She is originally from Brazil and part of the Brazil U20 Women's National Team.
She plays for a few different club teams, including one men's team in the U19 age group. She is an adidas sponsored athlete.
The obvious comparison is Catarina Macario and it's fitting to her game. There are things that Waksman does on the field that make you stop and watch in the same way Macario did as a youth. There's something to suggest Waksman's ceiling might be higher too.
Highlights
Fowler is one of the top goalkeepers in the country and a regular for the US Youth Women's National Teams. She was recently leading the charge for her high school, New Trier.
With excellent technique, sure hands, and an unbeatable drive, Fowler offers up the characteristics of a player who will only continue to get better and better at her craft in the coming years.
Player comparison - Kailen Sheridan. A similar build and technique to the Canada and San Diego Wave goalkeeper.
Highlights
Whipple is a center back for XF and a member of the US Youth National Team. She can do just about anything - including being a track star now as well. She's been one of the best at the ECNL level for some time. A leader for her team, Whipple stands out from the club level for her consistent play.
Whipple's play reminds me of England National Team defender Leah Williamson - the speed, agility, and defensive instincts when reading the game are the carryover traits between the two.
Highlights
Swann is another player from this list who hails from a soccer family. Her older brother Caleb is a heck of a player in his own right. Caroline might just be better though. Pushing herself at a young level to train and compete against the boys has set her up for being ready for the pace of the game at the next level.
Swann is a regular with the US Youth Women's National Teams and a star for Solar, one of the top clubs in the country. A powerful two-way midfielder with a commanding presence and top-tier vision, her game mirrors Lindsey Heaps.
Highlights
Cunningham is an 08 and part of the US Youth National Team in that age group. She is an elite talent in the attack thanks to her ability as a highly efficient finisher who can also create for her teammates. She plays up an age group at the club level and still finds ways to impact the game against the best talent two classes above here.
The way Cunningham moves off the ball and her ability to stretch the defense with her pace is reminiscent of Lyon attacking talent Kadidiatou Diani. They both are elite at playing off the shoulders of defenders.
