Girl’s College Commitment Scout Grades Chapter 41

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Congratulations to all who have made their commitments. Now it's time for a scout grade. Some will be happy, others might be pissed off and eager to prove me wrong.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have to give a big shout out to @ImYouthSoccer Instagram page for keeping up with these names flying off the board. Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments are not official until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent commitments. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. If you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schoolers do what you have the opportunity to do. These grades are based on overall fit, style of play/positional need of that particular program, how the program is performing and if I believe the commitment will last 4-5 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also encourage players to make their highlight reels easy to access for scouts to evaluate on their social media platforms. Super surprised not to see her ranked higher in Massachusetts as I rated her film highly. The Scorpions product is a calm finisher, good crosser and works exceptionally hard in her press. Really efficient dribbler nothing fancy but very effective. Ochsner is a Naperville North High School standout who must have been a live scout as I could not find a club or film for her. She has the height and in that profile photo it looks like she has elite athleticism. The Flames have a had a respectable season thus far at 5-6-3. Austin University. The Sting product is headed to a division 1 program who has been the tie queens this season with a positive 5-3-8 record. Most of their recruits come from the great state of Texas and this one is no different. A program like this really has to scout their region well to be successful and the Jacks are having a lot of success. The [program_tooltip program_id='283317' first='[program_tooltip program_id='280767' first='DKSC' last='']' last=''] talent is a big time athlete who uses her height to her advantage winning a ton of aerial duels. The Wildcats are 5-7-2 this season another team that recruits from their home state heavily. Great club and high school pedigree in PDA and Randolph HS. The Hokies are 4-8-3 albeit in the hardest conference in the country to get results in. Wenger is a power 4 talent headed to a power 4 school and I think she makes an impact on the field her freshmen year. The Jayhawks are 9-3-2 with every possibility to make the NCAA Tournament. Headed east to Iowa State and the Big 12 in 2027. Grex is an exceptional talent which shows why she's the 2nd ranked player in Arizona. She's a great athlete and shifty dribbler with a high competitive motor. She will scrap her tail off on defense and transition right into offense with 100% intensity. I would assume this is an in person scout for the Jackrabbits who are having an excellent season at 9-2-4 this year.
