Cox plays for the Classics Elite G09 team that will face the Portland Thorns, FSA FC and East Meadow SC in the event. The center back is one of the pillars of their defensive system, using her excellent positioning to get stops and make an impact. Cox uses her physical tools extremely well to dominate opponents, be it by winning duels inside the penalty box or by chasing opposing forwards around in the final third. Cox is one of the starting center backs for Classics Elite ECNL 09. She does an excellent job of protecting the team’s penalty box and winning duels with her physicality but also thrives with her ability to read the game and benefits from her great positioning to always be ready to jump on a tackle or cover a teammate. She’s very consistent with her actions and will very rarely put a foot wrong or be caught out of position. Cox also plays an important leadership role with Classics Elite, remaining vocal during matches and keeping things organized on the back for them.

Cox was very solid on the backline for Classics Elite and helped the team end the weekend with two wins and one loss and just four goals conceded. One of the team’s captains, she was very vocal and active when instructing teammates and keeping things organized on defense. Cox played as a left-sided center back for her team and did a very good job of keeping things quiet in her area. She played with great intensity and was strong in duels, but also displayed good positioning and reading of the game to cover her teammates when they were beaten.
