Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Goncalves featured for the Solar SC ECNL G10 team that competed in the U17 Division semifinals. She did very well in their 6-0 group phase win over FC Dallas White ECNL RL NTX G09, helping set up offensive plays from central midfield. Originally an attacking player, Goncalves adjusted well to the role, moving very well off the ball to consistently be an option to her teammates. Despite having more time on the ball than she’s used to in more advanced roles, she did well in moving it quickly, needing no time to scan the field and delivering the ball to an open teammate. Goncalves also made some good runs into the attacking half, firing dangerous shots on target.

standout was brilliant for Solar in this event. She is tactically advanced and finds those pockets of space to expose the opposition. Her play in the first half against La Roca was a good example of what she brings – from the finishing to the attention-drawing play that created chances for her teammates.

Goncalves plays for the Solar SC U16 side that has La Roca FC, FC Pride Elite and Eclipse Select SC in their schedule for the weekend. A new addition to the team this season, she boosted their offense with her crafty and productive game. An extremely technical and intelligent player, Goncalves can play anywhere in the frontline and also as an attacking midfielder. She has some incredible footwork and is very difficult to stop in 1v1 duels because of how quick and unpredictable she is on the ball. Goncalves can score at a high volume and is prone to scoring golazos, but also does very well when setting her teammates up in the final third.

Capable of playing on either wing, as a center forward and as an attacking midfielder, she’s a big part of their offense with her ability to beat opponents and get opposing backlines out of shape. Goncalves helped her FC Dallas side go undefeated over the weekend, producing two wins and a tie. Her team scored an impressive 13 goals in three matches and, playing the No. 10 role, the attacking midfielder played a major role in their outstanding offensive performance. Goncalves is a very creative playmaker, who uses her intelligence and her vision to make a difference in the final third. On Sunday, in their 4-0 win over SLSG Green, she was excellent at feeding her teammates in the attacking half, picking the best passing options over and over again. Goncalves also does a good job of moving around looking for the ball and checking back around the midfield line to combine with her teammates.

Goncalves is a forward on the FC Dallas 2010 ECNL team. She is also part of the Brazil Youth National Team and has been called into US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. She played center forward during the playoffs for Dallas Texans, but she is capable of playing as a winger or an attacking midfielder. She is skillful on the ball and likes to keep close control. She is good with either foot and a talented finisher. She is attack-minded and always wants to get forward in a hurry. Technically she is brilliant on the ball that she is one of the most difficult forwards for defenders to stay in front of. She cuts the ball with sublime precision and leaves defenders on the ground in her wake. Goncalves stands out for her unique qualities. She doesn’t use speed or strength to overwhelm, but relies on skill and savvy. She’s a fun player to scout and a top player from this group.
