About Sophie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I leverage my height to make catching saves, when possible, that might usually be a tip or a punch. I'm aggressive off my line and not afraid to make a 1v1 save. Strong communication and defensive organization play an important role in my game. I've focused on developing my footwork and distribution skills so I can aid in maintaining team possession and creating offensive chances.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am resilient, determined, competitive, and a hard-worker. I understand the value of playing for each other and the difference that can make in team dynamics and success. I know I'm a better goalkeeper and teammate when I'm composed, confident, and vocal.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

With the National Charity League (2023-current) I have served at many local philanthropies, developed my leadership and teamwork skills, and been awarded the Presidential Service Award. I was also nominated to my school's HOPE Squad which is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program and I was recently selected for my school's Peer Assistance Leadership Program.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Competing as a goalkeeper has taught me a lot about composure, leadership, discipline, and communication skills. I understand how important these qualities are both on and off the field and the role they play in growth and success.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a program where I can make an impact but where there is also the support to continue to develop as an elite goalkeeper. I thrive in an environment where I feel supported and yet challenged. Ultimately, I am hoping to find a program that shares my drive and values and will become a second home for me to continue to develop academically and as an elite goalkeeper.
