A new player with the team this season, she has been a great addition for them, taking on the captain’s armband and elevating their defensive solidity. Sockwell stands out for her excellent positioning, which allows her to clear crosses and make decisive stops inside the penalty box. She played as an outside back for many years and has good quality on the ball and an above-average ability to connect direct passes in the attacking half.

Sockwell is one of our highest risers in this class. She is a center back on the FC Dallas 09 ECNL team. She plays right center back for her club team. She’s an excellent passer. She plays with her head up and hits a variety of passes so the opposition can’t anticipate where she is going with her outlet. Sockwell has been excellent this season in taking the ball out of the air and beating the opposition to the 50/50 ball. She has stepped her quality as a defender and emerged as a top talent at center back in Texas.
