Serna stood out in Solar’s backline, playing on the right side of their back three. He showed a very strong defensive game, using his size, athleticism and positioning to consistently make stops. Serna did well in the air and in physical duels, but also showed excellent mobility to track opponents when he had to defend in space. The center back was very calm and composed on the ball and was very effective in possession, taking the ball forward when he had the space and connecting accurate short and long passes out of the back.
