About Nadia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my style as composed, vocal, and consistent. I rely on strong positioning and shot stopping while keeping my backline organized. I focus on making smart, disciplined decisions and staying calm under pressure

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am competitive and focused with a strong drive to improve every day. I hold myself and my teammates to high standards but I also bring positive energy to the field. I want to push those around me to succeed while staying steady and dependable in any situation

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have been recognized for both academics and leadership throughout high school. In ninth grade I was part of Academic Decathlon, earned Academic Excellence, and received Soccer Academic All District. In tenth grade I earned a third place medal in Academic Decathlon, Academic Excellence, Soccer Academic All District, and was a DECA Regional Qualifier. I also received the Field of Dreams Award.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a goalkeeper I have developed leadership and communication skills by constantly directing and organizing my team. I have learned resilience because mistakes in my position require a quick response and a strong mindset. Off the field I have grown in responsibility and time management by balancing academics, sports, and community service

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Balancing competitive soccer with demanding classes has been one of my biggest challenges. There are times when I move straight from practice to schoolwork late at night, but it has taught me discipline and how to handle pressure. On the field I have faced setbacks such as tough losses, but I have used them as motivation to grow and improve.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a competitive program where I can continue to grow as a goalkeeper and as a student. The right college for me values hard work, leadership, and academic achievement. I want to be part of a team culture that pushes me to reach my highest potential both on and off the field.

Shah started for the Ridge Point team that was in action in the Warrior Bracket. I followed their 2-0 loss to Lamar in the Consolation Bracket and saw some positives in her game despite the setback. A junior, Shah demonstrated good spatial awareness, planning and executing well her moves inside the box to get first to long passes and crosses. She also made some good saves and wasn’t to blame for either of the goals her team conceded in the match. Shah also did a good job of putting the ball back in play with her hands or feet, and was very efficient at keeping the backline organized, shouting instructions to her teammates.
