The 2008 age group was in action on Thursday with the Round of 16 games. The winners on Thursday would book a trip to Richmond, Virginia for National Finals, which kick off on July 10.

San Diego Surf, So Cal Blues, XF Academy, Slammers FC HB Koge, Penn Fusion, De Anza Force, Real Colorado, and FC Stars Blue advanced from the games on Thursday and head to Virginia next month to compete for the National Championship.

Check out the individual standouts from the games Prep Soccer saw on Thursday.

Hailey Perkins, XF Academy 08 - Perkins had a terrific game in the win over San Juan SC. She was involved in creating chances for her side. She hits a great ball from the dead ball situations which created a few good looks on goal. She also had the initial pass to set up the opening goal for XF on Thursday.

[player_tooltip player_id='20330' first='Vivian' last='Wheeler'], San Juan SC 08 - I thought Wheeler was outstanding in the second half against Crossfire. She came up with a couple of big saves. She also did well in securing the ball on crosses.

Vienna Whipple, XF Academy 08 - Whipple had another terrific game for XF in the win over San Juan. She was dominant in the air on both sides of the pitch. She was unlucky not to score in the second half as she had a great header off of a corner kick.

[player_tooltip player_id='112485' first='Isabella' last='Fernandez'], So Cal Blues 08 - Fernandez scored from outside of the box on a lofted shot from the opening tally in the win over Ohio Elite.

[player_tooltip player_id='20055' first='Peyton' last='Marinos'], So Cal Blues 08 - Marinos scored another outstanding goal in the win over Ohio Elite. The So Cal Blues striker is in top form right now. She had a similar goal in the draw against Solar. She uses her body so well to shield off the defender and put the player on her back hip. Once she is in on goal, she is efficient and lethal.

Mackenzie Stearns, So Cal Blues 08 - The left back for Blues was exceptional against Ohio Elite. She shut down that side of the field and forced the opposition to look elsewhere. She was excellent in the attack as well. Stearns put on a highlight-reel worthy performance in the game. [player_tooltip player_id='154559' first='Audrey' last='Abrahams'] was also brilliant defensively for Blues. The left center back did everything right. [player_tooltip player_id='112294' first='Simone' last='Basey'] really impressed me as well in this game. This was a talented Ohio Elite attack that the Blues handled with expertise.

[player_tooltip player_id='19311' first='Darla' last='Larson'], So Cal Blues 08 - Larson was everywhere in this game. She covered so much ground and worked tirelessly for her team. The midfielder was quite the impactful play in dictating where the game was played. [player_tooltip player_id='85859' first='Payton' last='Henry'] was also a standout in the midfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='77911' first='Cora' last='Fry'], Slammers FC HB Koge 08 - Fry drew a foul in the box and then converted from the spot in the Slammers the battle against NC Courage. Fry was an electrifying two-way player in the game as she went full committed to her defensive responsibilities to help her team advance from the knockout round.

Helena Andrzejewski, NC Courage 08 - Andrzejewski put the ball in a dangerous spot that led to the equalizer right back half in the game against Slammers FC HB Koge. Ella Mueller had the nice move to break open the defense and then play the pass into Andrzejewski, who put the cross into the goal area on the ground and took advantage of the slick surface. Lawson Hopkins made a terrific defensive play in the second half to stop a goal from Slammers.

[player_tooltip player_id='82414' first='Zamorah' last='Malinoski'], Slammers FC HB Koge 08 - Malinoski, the left footed midfielder mastermind of Slammers, was on her game in the game against NC Courage. She was instrumental in trying to break down the talented Courage defense.

Julia Amireh, NC Courage 08 - Amireh had one of her best games of the event on Thursday. She did well against the Slammers midfield with her quick feet, good movement off the ball, and clever passing. She can impact the game at the highest level.

Natalie Scobie, Sporting Blue Valley 08 - Scobie's goal on Thursday was a pretty spectacular effort that showcased her elite offensive qualities. She dribbled through three defenders with a variety of skills (body feints, ball fakes, and cuts) and then lofted a perfectly placed shot. Scobie was fouled often after her goal as Penn Fusion looked for ways to slow her down.

[player_tooltip player_id='25856' first='Kate' last='Kemmerley'], Penn Fusion - Kemmerley looked like the most important player on the field for much of the game against Sporting Blue Valley. The center forward did everything for her side. She held onto the ball, she created chances, and she won back possession when there was a giveaway. Kemmerley was rewarded for her effort with a brilliant header goal in the second half.

[player_tooltip player_id='19056' first='Amanda' last='Brayton'], San Diego Surf - Brayton scored from the spot in the 1-1 draw against Solar. [player_tooltip player_id='187356' first='Kieana' last='Smith'] drew the foul to set up the kick from the spot. Brayton was a standout throughout the game for the quality she brought in possession and her terrific defensive effort.

Emersyn Linder, Real Colorado - Linder was a standout in the midfield for Real Colorado. She was active and broke up the play of the opposition with her determined effort. Reese Morgan and Lindsey George were also stellar for Real Colorado.
