2008 ECNL Norcal Conference Pre-Season First Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2008 ECNL Norcal Conference is an extremely competitive age group. De Anza made it all the way to Virginia last year where they came up short against eventual champions Penn Fusion. Bay Area Surf, Mustang, San Juan and MVLA are all very capable of winning the conference and making a deep run in playoffs this coming year. Here is my pre-season First Team from this conference. She is great in the pockets and on the half turn. She can slip her teammates in and also beat defenders on the dribble. She is the creative force that helps this team run. If she hadn't I think her ranking would be a lot higher and her team would have accomplished more. She has the physical and athletic attributes to be great. She's tall, fast and great on the dribble. When her confidence is up she can finish with the best of them. This midfielders competitive drive is what really separates her from the rest. She is a hard-nosed, physical competitor who isn't too shabby on the ball either. It would seem to me that the higher level she plays at the more success she is going to have. She is in the US Youth National Team set-up and playing significant minutes on a very good San Juan 08 team. Her off-ball movement is superb and when she's on it she is extremely calm and calculated with her play. She is a two-way player as she bombs on down the wing and gets forward to create opportunities as well as a lockdown defender.
