ECNL Playoffs Day 2 Ballers Who Shined

The 2010 age group had their first day today, the 2009's had the day off, and the 2008/U19 Age groups were on day 2. Another amazing day for it in beautiful San Diego with temperatures never going below 60 and never above 72. A ton of really exciting and compelling games today with some players I recognize and others I do not. Here's who balled out while I was watching:    What a performance from the young star from Walnut Creek, CA. She quarterbacks the offense like most NFL Quarterbacks now days they can do it through the air and on the ground. Her passing out of the back was fantastic and she's always fun to watch when she gets going on the dribble. With her team down 2-1 her coach moved her forward to the 10 and slipped her teammate [player_tooltip player_id='266746' first='Milan' last='Evans'] in who won a penalty and Karson stepped up to tie the game 2-2 with the last kick of the game.     Evans scored the goal to bring her Mustang side back to 1-1 and won the penalty that ultimately tied the game at 2-2. She is a high flyer on her jump and has elite top end speed.     One player really stuck out for me from the Concorde Fire and it was Fernandez. She was playing midfield in this one and scored an absolute screamer with her left foot in the top left corner. She has good technique and very slippery in tight spaces when she's on the ball.     I did see her get scored on which is rare but it was a PK so the odds aren't in the goalies favor. Other then that she was amazing. Showing her incredible distribution and athleticism with a number of big time saves.     Made one of the best double saves I've ever seen to keep her team in the game. The most under rated Goalkeeper in the entire country if you ask me. Pepperdine who is known for identifying under the radar talent is getting a top player with a really bright future. Just because you're not tall doesn't mean you can't be a top goalkeeper as long as you are incredibly athletic which Tom is.     The Left Back had an impressive outing for her Slammers HBK side. She was a dominant presence from the first minute of the game. Up and down the left flank all game it seemed and scored a really nice goal. Playing up no less Rodriguez has the potential to be great.     Always a very entertaining player to watch Huddlestone is so strong and fast. She moves girls out of the way for fun. Very solid in possession and was spraying the ball all around the field.     Scored a good goal and dominated the midfield today against Saint Louis Scott Gallagher. Bott is a top player with a bright future. She has been in USYNT camps and has scouts talking about her for a reason.     Defensive midfield dynamo Woolforde is a special athlete who cuts off space incredibly well. Does a good job progressing the ball forward and even if she plays a bad pass she almost always win the ball back immediately afterwards. Elite mentality and just moves on to the next play.     The Georgia commit scored the game winner for Slammers HBK against Solar in the quarter-final where her team will face [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas']. Woolforde has speed to burn and took her goal really nicely with a low powerful finish into the bottom corner.     Here she is again. Leifried balled out against [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'] and had one of the best assists I've ever seen in a youth soccer game. In the last minute of the game where she played every single minute. She won a beautiful slide tackle right next to the sideline, popped back up to block a clearance from the left back, won the ball from her, took two dribbles then put in an incredible cross that her teammate chested in for a game tying 1-1 draw that sent the game into PK's. Unfortunately [program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf'] lost the shootout and Dallas advanced but that Leifried assist I'll never forget.     My goodness what a talent this young woman is. Coming off a 14-0 against Tampa Bay yesterday the National Champion Penn Fusion put on another show against Sporting Blue Valley. They ended up winning 4-0 and it could have been more. A really entertaining game that was end to end and that kind of game really suits Kocher. She ran more then any other player I saw all day. And when I say run I mean really quickly. She scored an excellent goal and had a great assist. Penn St has one of the best players in the country coming on campus in 2026.     Kimberley is a force to be reckoned with. The Notre Dame commit showed that her game backs up her reputation. Outstanding center forward who scored two great goals and created a ton of opportunities for her teammates. Her hold up play is outstanding equally comfortable as a true 9 or false 9.     This one is special. 2011 born player playing for the [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'] 2010 team and she certainly doesn't look like she's playing up as she towers over most of the other girls on the field. She glides through space and wins so many headers. Technically gifted as well this young talent has the world at her feet if she keeps progressing.     The Thorns midfielder impressed me against [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'] in what ended up being a 1-1 draw. It was hard for Dallas to get anything going offensively with Yakel around as she was so disruptive defensively for her Thorns side. Really good awareness and positioning. On the ball she showed immense potential with good touch and vision throughout the game.     Bledsoe scored the game tying goal for [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'] in their 1-1 draw with Portland Thorns. She is a workhorse, she has endless energy out there. Hopefully she can continue her goalscoring run tomorrow.     Collins has one of the best athletic profiles you will see at her age. Super tall at 5'11, very fast and deceptive. High motor and good technique as well. Intriguing talent to keep an eye on moving forward.     John-Baptiste scored two goals for her MVLA side in a 4-1 win. Her offensive game is becoming more polished and her athletic gifts have always shined. She seems to thrive in a Left wing roll where she has space and time to dribble into as well as get on the end of through balls.     The girls just gets better and better every time I watch her. Perry always impressed me as the heartbeat of this MVLA side. She is an incredible facilitator and exceptional ball winner in the heart of midfield. She has scouts and coaches talking about her that is for sure.     As is common place when she plays Yoshimura got on the scoresheet for MVLA in this one. She is a ball mastery queen if I've ever seen one. Balls out of the air, touches on the ground, first touch, second touch, third touch all have purpose and intent. Problem solver who can unlock a game at will.     Has some of the fastest feet you will see on the ball. She's in and out of space in a flash when she's on the ball. So technically gifted and creative player. This MVLA team is absolutely stacked and could be poised to go all the way this year.
