Yoshimura is a joy to watch. Possesses otherworldly technique and incredible on the half turn. She might be the best passer in the country in her age group she can thread a needle with extreme precision and weight. A consistent part of the USYNT and her 2010 MVLA side is, in my opinion the best team in the 2010 age group in the country and I think they prove it in Phoenix this weekend. With the Women’s College Soccer NCAA Tournament about to commence I can say with full confidence that Yoshimura will be playing in it one day.

Kiyomi made some contributions to the Saint Francis Treble. The Lancers won the league Championship, the Division I Central Coast Section Title, and the NorCal Division I title as well. She is a USYNT callup and she has the ability to compete with the best players in the nation and it is just a matter of time before she makes her mark on a stacked Saint Francis team. I’ve covered her in both high school and ECNL matches and she’s one of the most consistent players I’ve seen at the ECNL level. It’s gonna be awesome to see how she can support the Lancers in making another historical run.

The recent U-15 player who played in Europe on the USYNT was on-point as usual. Her ability to command the midfield allows the MVLA attack to make quality runs on goal. She can turn on a dime and change the direction of play in a matter of seconds. This ability catches most defenses off guard while her teammates find open lanes. Her quick and precise passes are a sight to see. Especially her one-touch passes that can slip between defenders for a high percentage shot in the box. She is always calm and composed and ready for making quality plays of offense and defense.

As is common place when she plays Yoshimura got on the scoresheet for MVLA in this one. She is a ball mastery queen if I’ve ever seen one. Balls out of the air, touches on the ground, first touch, second touch, third touch all have purpose and intent. Problem solver who can unlock a game at will.

Technique queen, so calm and calculated on the ball. She quarterbacks this MVLA team’s offense and she is a big reason why they have won the ECNL Norcal Conference. The offense flows through her. Yoshimura’s touch, vision and tight space dribbling is up there with the best I’ve seen in the whole country in her age group.

Yoshimura was exceptionally calm and collective in the mid. She orchestrated most of the MVLA runs on offense. Her passing skills and ability to scan gives her a distinct advantage when finding runners near or in the box. She also is great at working in tight spaces and can easily cut back and get by multiple defenders before making a pass or firing a shot on goal. With all the firepower at her disposal in this match, she didn’t have to rely on her finishing skills.

Another impressive performance from the MVLA attacking midfielder. She scored a well taken goal to put her side up 1-0 against Internationals in a 10am Kick Off. She is so good on the ball, her footwork and unpredictability while dribbling is a sight to behold. Her through balls forward always seem to get to her strikers in stride. Special talent.
