Guillen-Lopez is very physical, which helps clear crosses into the box and makes of him a tough matchup in 1v1 situations, but he’s also mobile enough to defend higher up on the field or out wide when needed. The center back is very active in possession too, helping his team move the ball from one side of the field to the other quickly and efficiently, and also connecting long passes when he sees an opportunity. He has a good presence in the penalty box in set pieces and often scores off headers.

Guillen-Lopez helped his team FC Dallas U15 MLS Next secure a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Mexico’s Global Sporting Club 2010. Playing in the center of the team’s back three, he was always ready to step up and anticipate opponents, but also displayed great mobility to cover his teammates and defend in space when needed. Guillen-Lopez was very strong in the air and had a strong presence in both boxes – he scored the team’s second goal in the match after picking up a rebound following a corner kick. The defender was also very patient and reliable on the ball, not rushing plays and taking his time to pick the right passing option out of the back.
