The USA Youth National Team's will be hosting a May training camp for 48 talented players next week. 24 2010 born players and 24 2009 born players will be showcasing their skills in Fayetteville, Georgia. The new home of the US National Team's. Texas was the most represented state from this crop of players with 12 girls across both rosters residing in Texas. California comes in a distant 2nd with 5 young ladies chosen to compete. No other state has more than 3 players participating. If you look at the way these rosters are being formed themes starts to emerge. There are no holdovers from the from the first crop of players in these age groups which suggests to me that this is being treated more as a pool of players to be evaluated over both age groups as opposed to team building quite yet. I will be highlighting a handful of players to keep an eye out for at this camp as well as the biggest snub from this years squad selection. Congratulations to all who made this prestigious squad!

Carr has two of the biggest countries in world soccer competing for her services. She has been with the England Youth National Team as well as the USA Youth National Team. She has performed at a very high level in both camps. She is an incredibly gifted playmaker. It will be interesting to see which team she will play for if there's ever a tournament where she has to choose one or the other.

1 of three San Juan players in this pool of 48 players. Sullivan has an extremely high motor to get up and down the flanks from outside back. She is so crafty on the dribble weaving through traffic with masterful elegance. She can play on either side as she is very two-footed and her defensive capabilities may be even more impressive then her offensive repertoire. Outstanding in the tackle, high IQ in her positioning and is a ball recovery queen.

She already has 3 professional appearances with DC Power in the USL Super League and became the league's youngest ever player to step on the field. An incredible achievement by Perrotta. The future certainly looks bright for this young star.

Karson is a phenomenal addition to this squad. Although she has been playing center back for most of her career she got some time at the 6 during high school season and I must say I was even more impressed with her game in that position. She has an incredible engine and flies around defensively making tackle,s winning headers, and disrupting the opposing midfielders. She is so sharp on the half turn and her distribution is one of the best I've seen in her age group. If I was US Coaches I might consider trying her there during this camp.

The Lamorinda attacking midfielder is an incredible player. She can play anywhere in midfield but the 10 is where she really thrives. Her 1 touch passing is incredibly polished. She combines well with her 9 and man oh man can she rip a shot. The kid from Napa can flat out play.

Ferraro is a walking match winner. She is outstanding on the ball and finds gaps in opposing defenses with ease. She can roll players with her back to goal with amazing consistency and might be the best player in the final 3rd at her age group. She can beat you on the dribble as well as the pass. Really exciting prospect who has NWSL and full national team potential. Whatever they're doing at [program_tooltip program_id='278036' first='San' last='Juan SC'] it is working.

I believe Kersh has the best athletic profile in this group. She's big, she's fast, she can decelerate and change direction at an elite level. Super competitive and loves contact. She's like the bully on the playground that steals your lunch money and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Strikes the ball with more venom than most pros.

Surprise, surprise Moore makes another National Team camp. [program_tooltip program_id='278036' first='San' last='Juan SC'] really deserves a lot of credit. To have 3 players representing your club at these camps is an incredible achievement. Moore has been on trial in the NWSL at multiple clubs. She is an incredible finisher, she can find the corners and beat goalies with power as well. Times her runs really well to get in behind and has speed to burn to get on the end of it.

BIGGEST SNUB AWARD:

I could not believe my eyes when I saw that Huddleston didn't make either of these U15 squads. It's scouting malpractice that this young lady is not a part of the 48 players that have been invited to these two camps. She lives in Hawaii and maybe that's the reason she remains on the outside looking in. She is the best defender on the best 2010 team in the country and defending ECNL National Champions Slammers HB Koge. And in my opinion the best pure defender in the 2010 age group nationally. I call on the selection committee to give this young lady a chance and you will not be disappointed.
