Martinez is one of the top goalkeepers in the country. He plays up with this team and still manages to make a difference with his strong game between the posts. A very tall goalkeeper, he has excellent agility and reflexes and consistently comes up with big saves in key moments. Martinez is also excellent in the air, moving well inside the penalty box and using his length to get to the ball before everyone else. His feet have improved significantly since the start of the season, and he’s now much more comfortable and efficient on the ball.

If FC Dallas managed to keep the Dynamo scoreless for more than 80 minutes, Martinez deserves a lot of credit for it. The goalkeeper played the entire first half and about half of the second and had a flawless performance between the posts. Martinez was asked to do a lot in the first half, when the opponents repeatedly created good chances, and he did some impressive saves, using his length extremely well and showing excellent quickness to get to the ground. The goalkeeper also did very well in the air, expertly navigating the penalty box and being very firm when going up to claim crosses.

Martinez is the starting goalkeeper for the FC Dallas U15 team. He has been in other youth national team call-ups before, is the top goalkeeper in the age group in Texas according to our Prep Soccer State Rankings and is vastly considered to be among the best in the entire country. Standing at well over six feet, Martinez uses his length very well to take up space in goal and also demonstrates excellent reflexes and technical skills between the posts.
