Anumele is part of the Houston Dynamo Academy and will be with the team in their matches in the U17 division against the Columbus Crew, CF Montreal and Sporting Kansas City. He joined the team just a few months ago and has been able to earn significant playing time while competing in a really strong center-back group. Anumele’s physicality is truly impressive for a player of his age, as he’s incredibly athletic and can flat-out dominate opponents with his strong frame. The defender has solid defensive instincts, too, and can make timely and clean stops inside and around the penalty box.

A new face with the Dynamo this season, having joined from Albion Hurricanes FC , Anumele formed a strong center back duo with Dami Samuel Dami Samuel 5'10" | D State #96 Nation TX and helped his team start the season with a clean sheet. A physical defender, he was particularly important in the second half, when the visitors pushed forward, clearing crosses and performing strong defensive actions inside the penalty box. Anumele also demonstrated good mobility to defend in space and was very effective with how he protected the space behind his back, making it hard for opponents to put him in bad spots with through balls and passes over the top. The center back didn’t take many risks with his possession game and connected his passes at a very good rate.

The center back for AHFC was a top performer in the game against La Roca. He contributed on both ends of the field. In the first half, he had a last second sliding block on an effort. In the attack, he rose above all the players to provide an assist on a goal. It was very clear that the set piece routine was executed with the intention of getting the ball to Anumele.
