The ECNL Conference Cup kicks off next month from Chula Vista, California. The annual event brings together 120 of the top players in the league. This year's edition includes the 2009 through 2007 age groups.

The Texas Conference has a strong group with a number of contributors who have already earned All Conference honors in the past as well as Youth National Team players. They should be one of the favorites heading into the event. Check out a scouting report on a few of the players to watch from this team.

Brink missed out on the ECNL playoffs due to injury, but appears to be close to 100% at this point and should put on a show at the ECNL Conference Cup. She can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. She had a stellar high school season for Highland Park. She is right footed, skillful, and lethal from set pieces. She is a talented dribbler and regularly wins duels. Her skill shines through the center of the field as she is a great facilitator for her side. After missing out on the playoffs, Brink will be in the spotlight at this event.

Berns is listed as a midfielder, defender, and forward on the Conference Cup roster. She is one of five players (from the 120) who is listed as playing all three positions and the only one on the Text Conference roster. Berns played midfield and defender at the ECNL Champions League playoffs from the games I saw. I thought she was excellent at outside back and equally as impressive at defensive midfield. She showed great awareness with her play at defensive midfielder as she did well in checking her shoulders before receiving the ball and then keeping close control of the ball. Berns is dynamic on the ball and can progress up the levels with her dazzling skill. I think Berns could be a star at outside back at this event, but her versatility will keep her on the field in any role.

Hubbard is another utility player on this roster as she is listed as a midfielder and defender. She featured as an outside back for FC Dallas 08 ECNL during the Champions League playoffs. I think her future is in the right back role. She is great in that role at reading the game, cutting out passes, and immediately finding the outlets for her side to quickly attack the opposition. Hubbard's shutdown defensive qualities shine when she is in duels, and she will likely be in plenty of those situations with the talented wingers at this event.

Feagin is an attacking midfielder who is set to be one of the leaders of this side. She is the type of player that everyone wants to play with because of her ability to create and finish chances. She is one of the best No. 10s at this event, and has shown that consistently in the past with ECNL All Conference honors. Feagin's ability to finish with her right foot from outside of the box has been impressive this season as she can place the shot with a bending effort or also kick the ball so hard that the net comes off the goal. Feagin should be a top performer from the midfield for this group.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pPJKeuvCXc

Morrow was one of our top performers from the ECNL Champions League playoffs in the 09 age group. The FC Dallas center back is a fierce competitor and a very smart defender. I don't think Morrow has a highlight reel out there, but the performances that she put together during the ECNL playoffs would make quite the statement. She is a center back with a lot of tools - she can shut down 1v1 defenders, she can play off the ball and organize, and she is an excellent distributor. Morrow is a talent defender and one of the players to watch as a likely candidate for the Best XI if she continues to perform at the high level she showed in June.

Texas Conference Roster

[player_tooltip player_id='26985' first='Liesel' last='Tetmeyer'] (Sting Austin)

[player_tooltip player_id='26898' first='Kayla' last='Cervantes'] (Solar SC)

Kensington Berns (Real Colorado National)

Addie Brink (Sting Dallas Black)

[player_tooltip player_id='26638' first='Danielle' last='Chaump'] (Sting Dallas Black)

[player_tooltip player_id='27099' first='Mikayla' last='Cunningham'] (Classics Elite SA)

Emma Fassora (Real Colorado National)

[player_tooltip player_id='27139' first='Olivia' last='Feagin'] (Challenge SC)

[player_tooltip player_id='199294' first='Brooklyn' last='Hubbard'] (FC Dallas)

[player_tooltip player_id='48063' first='Isabella' last='Larson'] (DKSC)

[player_tooltip player_id='198169' first='Lily' last='Marquez'] (Dallas Texans)

[player_tooltip player_id='112582' first='Trinity' last='Morrow'] (FC Dallas)

Marlee Raymond (United Futbol Academy)

Mia Wiele (Sting Austin)

[player_tooltip player_id='112616' first='Bella' last='Youssef'] (Challenge SC)
