Solar gave up only one goal in the four games in San Diego. The defense deserves a lot of the credit, but [player_tooltip player_id='191528' first='Camille' last='Barrett'] had some stellar moments to keep those shutouts.

There was a chance in the first half against PDA (which was later ruled offside) when Barrett showed all her brilliance. PDA was on the counter and a golden chance fell at the top of the box. Barrett was 1v1 with the attacker, who one-touched the finish. Barrett sprawled and made an athletic block with her foot to block the shot.

That is the the part of the position that Barrett is so good about. She is not called up for 90% or more of the game, but when she is tasked with stopping the chance, there is no doubt about her focus.

Rodriguez was extremely impressive at outside back for her team during the event. She shutdown some elite attacking talent. She has positional flexibility too and the previous experience in the attack added a weapon for her side when she received the ball out wide with the green light to go at goal.

This was one of the hardest spots to select. The Charlotte team went through group play with only one goal conceded.
Change was one of the most valuable players of the week. She played as both a center back and a center forward. She starred in both roles.

Huff scored a beautiful goal against SLSG Navy in the Round of 16, which ended up as the game-winner for her side. The decisive tally deserves the attention, but it was the movement before the goal that should get part of the spotlight as well. She covered a ton of ground and sprinted to the right area for the chance. Huff was clean on the ball and connected things for her side.

There's a strong argument to make that AHFC 2010 was the best team in San Diego that didn't advance to Richmond. They were in the battle with two of the top teams in this age group (Solar and MVLA) and came away with a draw from one game and a one-goal loss in the other.

Asekomhe was impactful in every game. She scored a great goal against MVLA with a tight turn and finish with her left foot. She's a talented dribbler and routinely creates chances for her side.
