About Sophia
Expert Analysis

She played lights out. Sophia made some great stops and showed her toughness after returning from a collision in the match. She didn’t miss a beat once she returned and seemed to have forgotten the previous play while taking on a player making a run on goal. Her ability to read the offense sets her up in the right spots to take away attacking and shooting angles. The MVLA star will definitely make an immediate impact on the college of her choosing. June 15 will be a busy day of phone calls for her and her family. I look forward to seeing her and her team compete in the national playoffs while making a run to the natty.

The Saint Francis goalkeeper played lights out in the first half and in both OT halves. Her key saves throughout the match carried her team to the penalty round. I counted at least 6 key saves on the day. Sophia is great at anticipating attacking lanes, and she’s fearless in 1v1s. She’s also good at playing the ball with her feet, and she can deliver some long-range punts. Sophia played a big part in stopping the high-powered Wildcats attack.

The winning continues for Ms Malloy. There’s no stopping this young goalkeeper. Adding an ECNL National Championship to her League, CCS, and Norcal Championships that she won in high school earlier this year. She was exceptional today for MVLA making some great saves, claiming a ton of crosses and was excellent in her distribution.

I’ve covered Sophia a few times in the high school season. One of those times was during the CCS Girls D1 championship in which they won as well as a few other ECNL matches prior to this tournament. She seems to be getting taller, stronger, and more athletic. Her ability to shut down offenses are a sight to see. She and

The young Goalkeeper is having an incredible couple of months. Starting for the impressive treble winning St Francis Lancers as a freshmen. And now an ECNL League Championship added to her resume a couple of months later. Can she make it 5 with an ECNL National Championship in July?

Malloy has great length and athleticism. She made some really good saves to keep a clean sheet. Her ability to close down attacking lanes and take on players in 1v1 battles are truly what separates her from the rest. Her best takeaway goal was when she was slightly off her line and an almost perfect chip shot was about to dip below the crossbar. Out of nowhere, she punched the ball over the bar with an acrobatic move. She is definitely a big part of why only 3 goals were recorded to this point.
