About Ryan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play a very creative and goal minded style. I live for cutting people up on the sides or chasing down a one v one behind the back line. I also never waste an opportunity to take a shot outside the box.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a very outgoing and confident person, and I love to compete in everything. I will do what it takes to be the best at whatever task I have and I love the big moments of glory in sports. With my friends and teammates, I strive to create relationships that are authentic and freeing.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am very involved in our Fellowship of Christian Athletes club at Episcopal as a member and leader. My favorite part of this is spending time with the other athletes at school and bonding with them over our faiths as well as our shared interest in sports. I have grown really close with this community and am very thankful for the memories and personal growth that has been made.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think the skill I have developed or am the most proud of over the last few years has been connecting and loving my teammates no matter what kind of "package" they come in. People are made differently, and I find a lot of joy in loving people where they are and not needing them to fit in my box. Life if way more fun that way.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My most significant challenge came in 8th grade when I fractured my Tib/Fib. Our Houston Dash goalie- Jane Campbell was holding my foot in her lap while we waited for ambulance. I had a surgery to put my bones back together the next day. The mental and physical battle to return from this injury was something that changed my outlook forever.

Operating as a left winger, Fox was extremely active and dangerous for the Lady Knights, scoring two goals in their victory. Many of the team’s offensive plays found her out wide and she was very aggressive at going at defenders, beating them to create chances. Fox displayed great technical resources to dribble in tight spaces and also used her body well to shield the ball and make turns. She displayed great chemistry with her teammates, connecting with them in nice combination plays. The junior winger did a great job of coming into the penalty box to finish chances and scored twice this way.
