Han is another new addition to the Solar roster for this season. She brings quite the list of accomplishments including call-ups to the US U14 Girls National Team Talent ID National Camp in May. She plays outside back for Solar 09 – I’ve seen her mainly at right back. There’s a pretty easy player comparison for her – and the development profile is already at the club but it’s lofty praise at this point. Han stands out for her strong technical foundation. Confident on the ball with either foot, she looks like a center midfielder playing outside back. She is outstanding in possession. She isn’t the speedy wingback player profile, but rather the skillful right back who rarely loses possession of the ball. Improving on her tactical understanding in the transition elements of the game will be the key to her development this season, as Solar figures to hold possession for long stretches and teams try to counter them. Han will often be in the spotlight against top wingers. She’s held her own through the start of the season and there is reason to believe she’ll end up as one of the best defenders in this class.
