Aguilar ranks second among the forwards and fifth overall among the Class of 2027 Texas forwards in our most recent release. She’s part of Cleburne High School in the Dallas area and one of the stars of the Solar SC U17 team that competes in the ECNL League. Technical and well-rounded, she can play different roles up top, but is probably at her best when used on the wings, where she has the space to take opponents in 1v1 duels with her intelligent and direct dribbling. Aguilar’s dribbling is very instinctual and creative, allowing her to find solutions and create space in difficult plays. She’s always very smart with her first touch and often creates advantageous situations in the final third for her team by using it to beat defenders and forcing opponents to defend out of shape.

The dynamic winger came off the bench during the first half and took Solar’s offense to another level. She spent more time on the right wing and was very difficult to stop with her pace and her ability to change directions. Aguilar was very aggressive every time she got on the ball, making a quick turn on the defender assigned to her and pushing the ball forward, at times making diagonal runs that disorganized Albion’s backline. In the second half, she was used more centrally, as an attacking midfielder, and showed tremendous potential to impact the game there too, beating defenders off the dribble in tight spaces and finding teammates with great passes.

Ranked as the best forward in Texas in the class of 2027 by our Rankings, Aguilar stars for Solar SC ECNL 09. She’s a handful to even the best defenders in the state, especially when she gets the ball on the wings, with space to use her pace to beat them off the dribble. Aguilar is extremely technical with how she controls the ball and her ability to make last-second decisions in 1v1 duels makes of her unpredictable and difficult to stop. Although mostly used on wide spots, she often appears inside the penalty box to finish chances and converts them at a good rate, showing calm and quality in front of the goal.

One of the top attackers in Texas, Aguilar is one of the most productive offensive players in her team. Mostly used on the wings, she uses her pace and extraordinary ball control, which allows her to dribble in no space, to beat opponents and create chances. Because she’s so intelligent, skilled and calm in front of the goal, Aguilar often gets on the scoresheet, finishing her own chances or those created by her teammates. On top of her athletic and technical skills, she’s also an excellent decision-maker, which allows her to find solutions to difficult situations and to thrive even when under pressure.

One of the top prospects in Texas, Aguilar is a threat playing in the wings for Solar. She stepped up in the most critical moment of the tournament in Dallas, getting a goal and an assist in the final against a strong FC Dallas team. Gigi is excellent with the ball and uses her first touch very well to get an early advantage over defenders. She has a very high soccer IQ and makes great decisions under pressure in no time. Aguilar is really great at creating chances for her teammates with her direct play and unselfish play, but will also step up and score goals in big moments.

Aguilar is one of the standouts on the new look Solar SC 09 ECNL team. She was with the team last year and has continued to impress at the start of this campaign. She has been part of the US Soccer Youth National Teams with call-ups at the regional and national level. She plays on the wing either side. She immediately stands out from game film in how she moves. She operates at a different speed that most. She is rarely always in one speed – but does an excellent job in varying her pace so she’s unpredictable to defend and utilizes her quick twitch first step. She could improve on her strength on the ball to withstand tackles in the open field and keep her balance, which will elevate her game especially in the transition aspects of the game. On the ball, she has an excellent first touch, and she plays with her head up. She is always scanning and makes key passes regularly. Aguilar is one of the wingers on the Solar team that will be fighting to lead the ECNL Texas Conference in assists this season. Even though she looks unselfish, she still has that strikers hunger and has already scored a few this season. She’s one of those rare players who can influence a game in a variety of ways – chance creation, finishing, and pressure breaking. Aguilar has among the highest ceiling of players in the 2027 class.
