Andries occupied Solar’s holding midfielder spot for most of the match and was one of the team’s key players with her high-energy game. She played with a lot of intensity and helped her team dominate the central area of the field with her ability to disrupt plays and win duels. Andries is a very cerebral player too, who never puts a foot wrong and is always well-positioned to impact the game. Her quality on the ball was of great value for Solar as it allowed them to make shifts from one side of the field to the other, helping them get Albion’s defense out of shape.

Andries was also part of the US U15 Training camp and is another key player in Solar’s system. She can play anywhere in midfield and even in the backline and is very productive on both sides of the ball. Andries is excellent at anticipating plays and times her tackles extremely well, which helps her make clean plays to win possession. She also plays a big role in possession not only because of her passing ability but also because of her advanced understanding of when to push the tempo and when to build up more methodically, moving the ball around and looking for gaps.

Andries was one of the players who switched teams during the offseason. She previously played for DKSC. She is now one of the midfielders on the Solar SC 09 ECNL group. She is highly rated by US Soccer and was called into the US U14 Girls National Team camp in Chula Vista in May. She can play as a No. 8 or as a No. 6 or No. 4/5. I think she fits in better in the midfield, but it’s easy to see how her attributes could be used to develop an excellent central defender. She is confident on the ball and strong in the tackle. She has fit in well with the Solar style of play. She can play quick combinations through the center or put her put on the ball and look to recirculate through options. Defensively, she’s good at putting in a tackle and dictating where the game is played. She stood out from game film in her movement away from the ball. She reads and anticipates really well. Andries is one to watch as she takes on a larger role with her new team.
