Gonzales played for the Dallas Texans team that ended the event with one win and two losses. I got to watch them in their most difficult match of the weekend, a 4-1 loss to San Diego Surf, and, despite the result, she still had a solid game. With San Diego heavily dominating possession, the Texans relied on transition plays to attack and Gonzales did a good job of quickly getting the ball forward with smart, direct passes. She had a little help from the wind to score the team’s only goal in the match in an Olimpico and also did well when pressing San Diego’s defenders in their own half.
