About Caroline

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a forward, I like to take players on with my speed to get a chance at the goal. I also like to check into spaces to receive the ball to where I can distribute it and make penetrating runs. Another thing that I believe I do well is making combination plays with my teammates to create goal scoring opportunities.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a very hardworking personality, and I give 100% of my effort in everything that I do. As a player, I have a great mentality that challenges me to get better every single day. I love taking on new challenges in and off the field because I know they will make me grow as a person and a player.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in the Nation Junior Honors Society, which is an organization that performs a lot community service and makes its members better humans. A non-sport award that I have received is the citizenship award at my school. This award is given out to a student, chosen by their teachers, who makes excellent grades and is friendly to everyone they meet.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A significant challenge that I have faced is that I didn’t begin playing club soccer until I was 12 years old. This meant that all of the other players had more skills, IQ, and more experience than me. Being surrounded by all of these girls who had a leg up on me really pushed me to become a better player. To this day, I am still learning new things every time I step on the pitch.

Barrow was involved in arguably Albion’s two best goalscoring opportunities in the match – she made a good run behind the backline in the first half, but saw her shot stop on Sting’s goalkeeper, and got into a great spot to score in one of the last plays of the match, but was tackled by a defender. As usual, she was very active in the attacking half, moving a lot and getting on the ball very often. Her high work rate also appeared on the defensive side of the game, as she was very engaged in pressing opposing defenders and consistently dropped back to help her team fight for possession.
