Perez anchored the Dynamo’s backline and helped the team produce a strong defensive display. Fellow center back Will Moddelmog Will Moddelmog Will Moddelmog D State TX and he were both very solid, defending well inside the penalty box and further up in the field, keeping the Rangers’ attackers under constant pressure. Perez was particularly important in the final minutes of the second half, when the Rangers insisted on long passes and crosses, which he was very successful at clearing with headers. The defender also had an efficient game in possession, connecting his passes out of the back.
