Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Koc stands out as the fifth-best forward in our Rankings and ranks 27th overall in Texas. A two-time state champion with Seven Lakes, he plays for GFI U19 in MLS Next and is currently spending some time playing in Spain. Koc is probably one of the most technically gifted forwards in the state and he does a great job of using his skills to create and convert chances for his team. He’s typically used as a left winger, but can also play more centrally, as a second forward or attacking midfielder. An outstanding dribbler, he also scores goals at an impressive rate every season, displaying great ability to shoot from outside the box and to convert set pieces.

Koc plays for the GFI U19 team that will be faced with New York City FC, RSL Arizona and FC Delco in Group 13 in Maryland. An extremely skilled player, he can be used on the wings or more centrally, but has been operating as an attacking midfielder, where he can make more of an impact in their offense, this season. Koc is excellent at dribbling in tight spaces, and that makes of him a very dangerous player around the penalty box, even more considering his amazing finishing skills. He also has excellent vision and can execute difficult plays in the final third, creating chances out of nothing. Koc has tremendous goal-scoring ability and is very effective in set pieces.

Playing as an attacking midfielder, Koc was GFI’s main playmaker in the match. He got on the ball a lot and, even at times defended by multiple opponents, still found ways to get by them and push his team forward. Because of his ability to dribble in tight spaces, Koc was one of the few GFI players who managed to create plays through the middle. His passing was also very accurate and he made some nice shifts, finding the wingers in good spots. He converted the penalty kick to score the team’s goal with a great shot and was dangerous near the end, when his team looked for an equalizer, sending crosses into the Hornets’ penalty box.

The dynamic forward will be the focal point of Seven Lakes’ offense this season and his play will have a major impact on what the team does when in possession. Expect Koc to have full freedom to move around in the final third in his skill set gives him the ability to make the most of it as he’s very dangerous around the penalty box with his ability to beat opponents off the dribble and finish from distance. Koc is very technical and quick with his actions and can cause damage in attack either by making solo runs or combining with his teammates. The Spartan’s all-time leading goalscorer, Koc is also an elite finisher, who can score from anywhere inside and around the penalty box.

Although he didn’t find the back of the net, Seven Lakes’ all-time leading goalscorer had a major role in the team’s victory, assisting Ejerenwa in both of his goals. Koc fluctuated between midfield and attack and kept moving without the ball to find space, but was well defended by Cinco Ranch, which at times double-teamed him, and had most of his chances in set pieces – hitting the crossbar in one of them and firing another one right next to the post – and long-distance shots. The junior was very active in the team’s high press and won possession a couple of times in dangerous areas of the field. Koc kept trying to score until he left the game because of pain in his ankle and he drew several free kicks around the penalty box.

Having scored four goals, Koc is an easy choice here, but even disregarding his goals, his performance was still excellent. The forward played with great freedom and used it extremely well to create chances and repeatedly generated issues for Nimitz’s defense. Seven Lakes’ all-time leading goalscorer, Koc circulated everywhere in the attacking half and hurt the Cougars in a variety of ways – he was lethal when running behind defenders, but also had great success dropping deeper to operate as a deep-lying playmaker. Koc was unstoppable when he had the ball, combined well with his teammates and scored two spectacular goals in long-distance shots, capping off a stellar performance.

has been highlighted this season for his stellar play at the high school level. The attacker is playing with AC Houston Sur Pre-Professional in the USL League 2 this summer. He is one of the youngest players in that division. He is still standing out from those games. He started and scored a goal in a game in June. He is an attacking midfielder with possibility to play on the wing. He is dynamic on the ball. He likes to take players on and get after them at pace. At the high school level, he toys with defenders. He holds possession like a yo-yo and sends defenders in circles. He adapted his game well for the USL 2 level, which should be a good showcase for scouts for the next level.

One of the most promising offensive players in the region, Koc had a tremendous season with Seven Lakes, which resulted in the team winning the state title. A Tasco First-Team All-State Selection, he’s the only player in program history to have scored 20+ goals in back-to-back seasons and, with 42, is the Spartans’ all-time top goalscorer…as a sophomore. Koc is extremely dangerous with the ball because he’s very quick, skilled and can play very directly. He’s at his best when deployed on the left, from where he can bring the ball inside and finish with his right foot. Besides all his offensive production, Koc also plays with a lot of energy on defense, putting pressure on opposing defenders.

A dynamic offensive player, Koc is the one who provides a different flair to the well-organized Spartans. His ability to dribble the ball forward is unparalleled and vastly utilized by his team to break strong defenses. What makes Koc so difficult to stop is the fact that he can hurt teams in several different ways. He normally plays on the left and letting him bring the ball inside is not an option because of his great finishing skills, but he’s also incredibly dangerous when he gets to the end line. Koc is excellent at creating for his teammates and is very disciplined and intense defensively, making great pressure on opposing defenders when they’re on the ball.

Koc was one of the most exciting attacking players to watch in the tournament with his very complete skill set. He played primarily on the left for Seven Lakes and was great at progressing the ball with his dribbling but also proved to be an excellent finisher from mid and close range. Koc is very creative and smooth with his movement and scored two goals and registered one assist over the Spartans’ three matches. He also does an excellent job of putting pressure on the defenders and recovering the ball in dangerous spots in the attacking third.
