Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Gonzalez did a great job of keeping FC Dallas scoreless for 88 minutes and helped the Dynamo create the conditions for what could have been a victory. The goalkeeper was constantly challenged by the opponents and responded very well, making at least seven big saves, some of them in 1v1 plays. Gonzalez stood out for his positioning and his reflexes between the posts and was only beaten in dead-ball situations. The goalkeeper also did well when he had to use his feet, moving the ball accurately and efficiently.

Gonzalez is one of the goalkeepers in the squad of the Houston Dynamo team that will play D.C. United, TFA and Vardar SC in Pool T in the U16 Division. He missed some time this season due to an injury, but he is back in action and quickly returning to his best form. Gonzalez has a background in futsal, which gives him an impressive ability to make stops 1v1 and superior reflexes between the posts. He’s very athletic, too, and uses his power to get to difficult shots in the corners and to make reflex saves in short-range shots.
